Big Canoe, Georgia:
Elk Horn is a premier luxury four-bedroom cottage in the new Choctaw Village area near the Club House with walking trails easily accessible throughout the area managed by Mountain Home Rentals of Georgia. Tremendous attention to detail with everything from the 200-year-old heart of pine floors to quality furnishings.
The main floor has an open kitchen, great room, and large dining room with gas fireplace, HD Flat Screen TV, half bath, master bedroom with king bed, HD flat screen TV, and a large master bath with a walk-in shower and separate tub.
A deck off the main floor has a propane gas fireplace for you to enjoy! Upstairs has a king bed bedroom with a bathroom with tub and separate walk-in shower and an office in the loft. Downstairs has a queen bedroom and bunk bed bedroom (one twin and one double), each with its own bathroom, rec room with gas fireplace, an HD flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, and wine cooler. There is a futon for extra sleeping accommodations.

THE AREA:
Big Canoe is an 8,000-acre wildlife gated community in the hardwood forest of the Blue Ridge Mountains just north of Atlanta. There is a stock with a trout fishing lake, marina, and rental boats available. Big Canoe has over twenty-four miles of maintained hiking trails and plenty of wildlife including deer, black bears, and turkey. As a renter, you have access to all of the Big Canoe amenities paid directly for each amenity. I'm sorry, but we do not offer any passes with the rental. We are more than happy to offer our recommendations about the local area and answer any questions you have about the unit or the complex itself. You can reach us through your booking conversation thread, or you can speak to our 24/7 Guest Experience Department.
OCCUPANCY:
This unit allows 8 overnight guests. Feel free to have guests over, however, in compliance with the city regulations, there cannot be more than 8 people overnight in the unit at any given time. Over occupancy may result in eviction.
RESORT-LIKE AMENITIES:
We have 3 golf courses, 5 lakes, hiking trails, a wellness center, yoga, indoor & outdoor pools, sauna, saline whirlpool, tennis, pickleball courts, bocce courts, Jeep Trail, dog park, beach, water slide.
PARKING:
The driveway can accommodate four cars so we recommend that any additional cars park in the lower Chapel parking lot. We are located in a cluster home community so the houses are close together.
COFFEEMAKERS:
Keurig and drip coffeemakers.
FIREPLACE:
This home has a gas fireplace controlled by a knob, see Guestbook for instructions (in the main living area). There is a second fireplace on the screened porch off the primary suite. The fireplace in the lower living area is decorative only.
**CLEANING PROTOCOLS** All cleaning is done by professionals who use advanced cleaning practices and disinfectants. We maintain excellent cleaning standards and pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. If something isn't right we promise to make it right. Please contact us and we will send a cleaning professional to your property. We fight fabricated claims for discounts with our extensive documentation on the house and post names to web for the protection of other hosts. :-) This beautiful home is not pet friendly. :-)
PRIMARY BEDROOM DOES NOT HAVE WINDOW BLINDS:
The primary looks out at a lovely covered porch and fireplace. It is does not have blinds on that wall due to the wonderful view.
GATHERINGS:
We know you are coming to Big Canoe to have a good time, but out of respect to the other tenants and neighbors, this property has a strict "No Party" policy.
QUIET HOURS:
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Guests are responsible for the conduct of all persons in their unit.
SMOKING:
Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the unit. There will be a minimum $250 penalty fee if it is determined that there was smoking in your apartment during your reservation period.
MINIMUM AGE:
Guests named on the reservation must be 30 years or older. By booking a reservation, you represent and warrant that you are 30 or older. The name on the reservation must be present at check-in and throughout the duration of the stay.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT:
Check-in time is at or after 4pm and check-out time is prior to or at 10am. Early check-ins and late checkouts are based on availability and can be requested one day before. Additional fees may apply.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellation charges are as follows: rental payments are fully refundable until 14 days prior to the reservation arrival date (less credit card fees). If 8-13 days prior to the reservation, 1/2 the total rent and tax can be refunded. Less than 7 days: cleaning and pet fees can be refunded. We will do our best to work with each guest. We have many repeat guests so we try to take care of each and every one.
