Summary: We had great expectations for Grandview Lodge, and we had heard that was a great place to stay and visit. I think the managers are living off of reputation, and not delivering the quality that is expected of a legacy high-end resort. The room we received was certainly moderately priced and should be, because it’s old, and very dated in the main lodge. they show pictures of modern, very nice rooms from the separate hotel and hide the fact that the main lodge rooms are not up to par. I love history, but I don’t wanna live it in accommodations. The mail lodge could be so much more, but it isn’t. The quality of the food and service across all of the properties’ restaurants is mediocre at best. For example, the Mexican themed lunch we had did not match the quality of Qdoba. Some, not all, members of the staff are poorly trained, and lack the expertise to deliver quality service. The handicap rail at the bottom of the ramp in the main lodge is unstable, degraded, and needs to be attended to. The overall presentation of the property is fine. But managers lack the attention to detail that is needed.
