Located between Toledo and Cleveland, this area is truly the heart of it all.
We lived in our cottage for over 40 years, year around, and enjoy the seasons changing. We enjoy bird watching as this area is rated high as a migratory flythough and we have logged over 40 kinds of birds. Mitiwanga has become a destination for family reunions , as families have spread out over the States.
Relax and enjoy our beach and lake and join in the fun with your family.
And by all means bring the golf clubs. The Cedar Point club has a beautiful 18 hole course. Thunderbird Hills in Huron has two challenging courses, plus a driving range to get your swing ready to go. In Vermilion is Willow Creek and Vermilion Golf Club. And for the exciting fun is Cedar Point Amusement Park, with different offerings from water to rides. Kalahari water Park has day passes offered when the outdoor is not so good.
And after a day in the sun, enjoy our large backyard and patio with a play park just across the street. Both gas fired grill and charcoal grills are available.
For those who enjoy walking, there is Old Womans Nature Preserve. Several trails can be explored. And bring the binoculars to see many eagles and nests as you walk. From our house, a square mile is a good walk. Bring your bikes to ride the same area.
The town of Huron is a short 4 miles and offers many attractions from farmers market to a good library. Our hometown grocery store is Cornells and has much of what you need for cooking on the grill or more. Going East id Vermilion, about 7 miles. Explore the local small shops and enjoy two festivals, the Festival of the Fish on Fathers Day each year and the well known Woolley Bear Festival, the largest one day festival in Ohio.
Grocery shopping large store is Giant Eagle. Bring your best duds to dine in one of the top 10 restaurants in the USA. Chez Francois. Owners Matt and John will provide an outing that is hard to forget.
