You're surrounded by some of the Catskills' best hiking trails, fishing spots, and swimming holes just south of Route 28. Restaurants, distilleries/breweries, shops, farm markets & more in Phoenicia, Margaretville, Roxbury, Pine Hill, Big Indian, Bovina, and Andes are right nearby too.
The house is the best of both worlds -- modern and light-filled in a classic log cabin setting. The property has beautiful, hilly meadows adjacent to New York State forest and with views of neighboring mountains. While nestled in the heart of Catskills wilderness and between two of the area's most popular hikes, it's a short drive to the area's favorite towns, activities, and restaurants. You'll truly experience peace and tranquility here.
The house has an open, light-filled design, with a large glass-fronted "porch" that looks out on the property -- a great place to enjoy the sunset over the mountains and watch the wildlife wander by.
As you walk inside, the kitchen and dining area have soaring ceilings and a cozy woodstove, with a living area just beyond. The entire area has concrete floors with radiant heat.
At the top of three broad stairs is an alcove for watching movies, reading or napping. The master bedroom with a queen-sized bed is to the right and the bathroom (with soaking tub) and second bedroom with two twin beds are at the other end. The bedrooms and alcove are heated with wall units.
I recently bought the house and it needs some finishing work (like the siding and screens on the porch), but none of this impacts the functionality.
