Experience the hidden gem of western North Carolina, Gorges Cabin! This cozy cabin in the woods is an outdoor adventurer's paradise and is situated next to one of the few temperate rainforests in the country, Gorges State Park! You will find all the perks of being secluded and surrounded by nature, while still being close to amenities such as dining, groceries, and more. Simply relax on our spacious wraparound deck or take on a strenuous waterfall hike, you can do it all! Many outdoor activities in the area including: rafting, fly fishing, horseback riding, golfing, and much more.
Gorges Cabin is an all wood cabin with touches of rustic mountain decor throughout. On the main floor you will find a cozy kitchen and dining area, with seating for 6 guests. This opens up to the living room, where you can watch your favorite movies or play board games with family & friends. From the living room, step outside onto our expansive, wraparound deck. Enjoy the cool mountain mornings sipping coffee or gather round the firepit at night for some s'mores, outdoor seating for 6+ guests. Step back onto the main level and relax in the "Bear Room", a king room with a real log bed. Full bath accessible from Bear Room. Upstairs you will find a spacious king room with vaulted ceilings and balcony access ("Autumn Room") and a queen room with vaulted ceilings ("Elk Room"). Full bath between Autumn/Elk rooms. The bottom or basement floor contains a game room, 2nd kitchen area, and full bed/bath. Perfect area for kids to play games, like foosball, or watch movies!
The cabin contains baseboard heating and window AC units throughout. Additionally, there is a wood burning stove in the basement perfect for the winter months. Firewood & kindling will be provided. Our cabin is on septic so please be mindful and only flush toilet paper.
We are happy to welcome furry friends for a flat fee of $50. We will welcome up to 2 dogs under 55 lbs. each, cats not allowed due to owner allergies. Please do not allow pets on beds or furniture and please pick up after them so all of our guests can have an enjoyable experience.
Free parking on the premises for up to 3 cars. Our cabin is accessed via a one lane gravel road. Easily to access with 2WD, however we highly recommend 4WD in the winter months as snow/ice could cause safety concerns.
We ask that you kindly do not explore beyond the property boundaries or down any roads connecting to the property as this is private property. We have lovely neighbors but we would appreciate if you could save the exploring for nearby Gorges State Park.
We are located in a rural mountain setting, so fast internet is hard to come by. We have the best possible internet for the area but you may still experience slow speeds if there are too many users. You may lose cell service on the drive in but should regain it upon arriving at the cabin.
