The newly renovated River House features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a gaming room, 2 family rooms, and a kitchen with many amenities. Observe the wildlife across the river from the comfort of a fully stocked home. When the weather is right, you may also see some kayakers floating down the river, or you can rent some and explore the river yourself!
Downtown Chillicothe is just 6 miles away, so you can enjoy the tranquility of a home outside of the city, while still having the convenience of being close to town. You can explore the charming small-town offerings that include plenty of shopping, restaurants, pubs, parks, and even a brewery. Visit the Hopewell Mounds National Park or the Adena Family Mansion and learn about the fascinating history of the area. Stop by the family-owned Hirsch's Fruit Farm that has been open for over 125 years for delicious fresh produce and other goodies year round. Explore Bridge St. for even more shopping, activity and dining options. Seasonally, watch the legendary live theater drama, Tecumseh, in an outdoor stage that features live horses and a show under the stars. This house features a queen bed that sleeps 2, a sleeper sofa that sleeps 2, and two twin beds that sleep 1 each for a total of 6. It has a front porch that faces a wooded area, and a backyard balcony and patio area that face the river and a wooded island. There is a shower in the upstairs bathroom, and a bathtub shower combo in the downstairs. The kitchen has full sized appliances: Refrigerator, Oven, Dishwasher, and Microwave. It is supplied with dishes, cooking and baking ware, cutlery, a Keurig, toaster, and blender.
Fun Fact: We really wanted our river house to have unique finishes and specialized pieces that you can't find anywhere else. We have two gorgeous table bars that were hand-crafted by a local tradesman to give them a one of a kind warmed wood appeal! Also, the ground level floors have a very distinct finish designed exclusively by us, no two feet are the same! We hid a penny somewhere in this floor before putting on the final sealant... think you can find it?
There is free onsite parking in our large driveway that can accommodate multiple vehicles. The ground level family room opens up to a patio space that looks out over the water. It features a large 65” smart tv, retro style video games, and a bar with a beverage refrigerator. There is a washer and dryer available.
Use the upper or lower deck to sip your coffee in the mornings and play some card games at night. You can watch the river inside from the kitchen, family room, or cozy master bedroom windows, or sit outside on the top tier balcony or lower tier patio to enjoy the view. Wander out to the backyard that features lots of room to play, a fire pit and plenty of seating for friends and family.
As with any residence, in addition to all of the fun and relaxation, you may also experience some other side effects of the area. There may be noise of other folks passing by or the train that is across the street. Ohio is known for the beautiful sun rays in the summer, which makes everything grow, including bugs and other wildlife. Anything wild can be unpredictable so please enjoy by observing only. This especially applies to the river itself. Do not enter the river. The bank to the river is steep and the water is deep and moves fast. Please use extreme caution anytime you are outside, and be especially cautious if you have children on the premises. The roped posts are for decorative purposes only, it is not a fence and will not prevent someone from falling into the river.
There is a ring doorbell camera outside only. We work very hard to keep everything in our home at optimal performance level. However, all aspects of the property, house, and it’s contents are use at your own risk. There are smoke detectors installed on all levels of the home and a fire extinguisher as well. Please familiarize yourself with these upon arrival. This is a new renovation. You will get to enjoy the perks of a fresh remodel, however the grass had to be reseeded, so you may see some muddy areas until it grows in. Smoking outside only please. There will be a $250 fee if there is any evidence of smoking inside the house. We are available anytime for questions, please feel free to contact us!
