Spectacular views of the White Mountains greet you each day from the broad waterside deck of this special rental on beautiful Lower Kimball Pond (The Google Map illustration in VRBO is incorrect - house is less than 100 ft from the water.) Once part of a boy's camp in the 1940's the property extends to the water's edge where the sandy bottom is ideal for wading, before sloping gradually to deeper water and a common swimming raft. The private dock is a perfect place to read, relax, or launch off to adventures. A shared private sandy beach, basketball and tennis courts are a short walking distance. The house has the wonderful feel of a Maine camp; a wood beamed cathedral ceiling allows for a light filled experience in the large central living room featuring a working fieldstone fireplace and connected open kitchen. With three bedrooms and a loft, there are accommodations for ten, two full baths, a screened porch, and outdoor shower. A ping pong table, dart board, rowboat, canoe, and sit-upon kayak are downstairs ready for use. Amenities include washer and dryer, WiFi, plenty of parking and lots of board games!
Lower Kimball Pond is a quiet lake approximately a mile across located just outside of the town of Fryeburg, ME. Good swimming, excellent fishing, and quiet canoeing take place beneath the stunning ridge of mountains to the west. Nesting loons occupy the pond and the birds can be heard calling at sundown. Nesting eagles have also been seen on the lake. Great family hiking is all around while shopping and many restaurants are nearby in North Conway, NH. Canoe trips on the sandy Saco River can be arranged in town. Enjoy beautiful sunsets, crisp clean waters, and the laughter of family and friends on warm days.
