Enjoy fishing from one of the four docks, the shore or on the lake. Rent a kayak or a pontoon nearby. Little Acorn is minutes away by car from Dock 1 Marina, where pontoon boats may be rented, Dock 2 for kayak rentals, or the lodge for food and views. Kayak rentals, great coffee and the best root beer float at Burr Oak are available near Dock 2 at The Float Shack. The lake is gorgeous, surrounded by hills and trees and dotted with water lilies. Perfect for bird watchers, hikers, kayakers, paddle boarders, fishermen, pontoon captains or those just needing some easy and quiet R&R.
Little Acorn is located at the end of a lane and snugged right up against the woods of the 2600 acre Burr Oak State Park. Your only real company will be the birds (and maybe a box turtle or two you may see on a hike). We hope you’ll feel at home in this charming and modern two-bedroom, 2.5 bath cabin. Little Acorn is located four miles from the small towns of Glouster and Trimble, so bring your groceries with you or take a break and visit any of the restaurants or retailers in the greater area. Nelsonville, Logan and Athens, three much larger communities, are 20-30 minutes away. There's a small Kroger in Trimble and a deli/convenience store in Glouster. Hikers and cyclists are enjoying the new Baileys Trail, with nearly 100 miles of improved wilderness trail, and the famous Old Man's Cave is a half hour away.
