Ever wondered what it's like to stay on an Amish Farm surrounded by farm animals and beautiful countryside? This is your chance to experience a vacation that is not offered anywhere else. We purchased an Amish farm and have a beautiful "Dawdi House" that is attached to our garage and is very pretty inside. It was left in original Amish form with off the grid solar power & gas lights. We also added electric (just in case) and it has all other modern amenities including wifi. For the most part, however, the property is original as the Amish owners built it. Even better, we have lots of sweet, friendly rescued farm animals including sheep, donkeys, pigs, chickens & ducks. It's like having your own Hershberger's Bakery farm tour that's included in your stay. The kids can feed the animals as often as they like and collect chicken eggs for breakfast. There is an Amish School next to the entrance to our driveway.
We are very picky about who stays on in our Dawdi House since this is on our property and in the middle of an all Amish, quiet community off the beaten path. We are looking for FAMILY or COUPLES only. Most importantly, we are looking for quiet, respectful people who won't photograph the kids walking by and will be gentle to our animals.
This is a 100% non smoking property. If you are a quiet, respectful family looking to visit the Amish Country we would love to have you. The Dawdi House has 2 queen beds upstairs, and a tempurpedic king bed downstairs. There are two full bathrooms. It's a nice set up for a family visiting with their grandparents. It's approximately 20-25 minutes from Berlin, Kidron, and 10 minutes to Fredericksburg. We are on a dirt road way off the beaten path so you don't have to worry about cars going by. We also have some swings that are better than park quality and overlook the fields.
We are not new to VRBO, and worked hard on our former property to maintain a 5 star rating from keeping the home spotless, well stocked and well decorated. We supply all of the towels, linens, coffee & alarm clocks ….you really just need to bring your clothes and personal items.
We steam the beds, couches and other fabric surfaces using a professional steam cleaner routinely. Hard surfaces are cleaned with chlorox products to make sure everything is germ free.
